i'm wanting to get a 5 or 10 gallon tank for one of my bettas. i've never had an actual fish tank before and i was wondering since bettas can live without a filter do i really NEED to get one? the betta i'm wanting to put in the bigger tank has been in a 2 gallon tank for about 3 months now and he's doing just fine. so do i really NEED to get a filter? if i do what else would i be required to get? (other than gravel and hiding spots and such)
Filters are not required, but they help the water stay cleaner.
You could always get a tank kit and the filter will be included and usually everything else you'll need except the decor/gravel.
i've been thinking about getting a tank kit but there are so many and i really dont know what to look for in them, quality wise. what are some good brands to look for?
i recently purchased a 2.5 gallon tank and do not have a filter but, i do not give my two betas(male, female) any frozen food until it is close to time to change there water
