new tank help

I always use heaters, but I never use filters, only one tank has it because it has non-bettas in it.

i got my first betta in march and it was starting to warm up so i'm really not sure i'll have to, what are the winters like in kentucky?

December, January and february are cold. It starts warming up a bit in march.

that's about how it is here. i went to the store today and my friend that worked there said he could get me a 5gal with all the stuff i needed for about $45
so i'm a happy camper :)
