Newbie here!

Hey, everyone!

I found these forums a few days ago and I've been busily lurking. Decided to join tonight after setting up my 10 gal. and running into some questions and such, which I'll post later.

A bit about me... mid-twenties female living in San Diego doing computer programming with three cats and two foster dogs. I would like to put a betta and two ADFs into the 10 gal. Yes, my apartment is a zoo.

I've owned two bettas in the past. One was a birthday gift from my sister when I was about 11 I think. He was a dark blue male that I named Indigo and he lived for three years in a dinky bowl (I didn't know any better). The other was a betta I got in college, a pale pink male I named Seabiscuit aka Paddrig Wellington III (my dorm-mate and I were super wasted the night we named him, heh). He lived for a couple of years. They have such lively personalities that I find myself wanting to get another one and maybe incorporate the frogs since they're so DARN CUTE!

Good to be here!

Hi Torla and welcome to the forum from one newbie to another.

You may want to read up or ask around about adding the ADFs. From what I hear they tend to nip at betta fins. Especially since you are thinking of adding more than one, they may end up competing for food. Maybe someone will advise further.

Someone posted this link in a thread on here. I hope it helps!

Good luck!

Hi everyone, My name is Teresa I joined in May when I rescued a Betta from a Co-worker. She had him in a bowl and didn't clean it enough and then added a Frog. It all went down hill after that. She was going to flush him. But I brought him home and several people in here helped me as much as they could. We were only able to keep him alive for few more weeks. So I agree no frogs.
