so irritated

i put voodoo in the breeding tank and put omega red next to him for encouragement, he built a HUGE bubble nest in one day, so i moved her back to her rightful spot to let him finish up, then an hour later... every freakin bubble was gone!!! now jack wont make a nest either.

shes doing her best to get to him and kinda building a nest of her own, shes fantastic and fat with eggs, even in her white body i can see her little white bulge

what kind of substrate and plants and such do you use in your breeding tank? currently i have half bare half well planted w/tons of hiding spots, the part that is bare is the corner where he tends to build his nest so he wont lose any eggs

I think no substrate is the best way to go (from what I read). It's easier to clean and safer for the fry until they are big enough to move.

Having no substrate also makes it easier for the male to pick up fallen eggs.

yea last night after i posted that i removed it all. i floated her in there all day and this time no bubble nest, hes just flaring, none of my boys are making nest now. im so frustrated.
