Holiday feeding?

We'll be gone for the long weekend and are concerned about Neptune's feeding. We feed him a couple of pellets a day, but what happens on the days we're out (Fri, Sat & Sun). Is it ok for him to go on an extended fast or should we get him some holiday food?

Don't feed him while you are away. He'll be fine without food for a few days. If you are worried, leave some live plants there as he can consume microorganisms that harbor the plants.

Betta's can go up to 4 weeks with out food, a few days will be fine.

Thanks Lupin and neenjar! He does have quite a few live plants in his tank, so I guess he should be good.

I would feed him right before you leave and then start back on your regular feeding schedule when you come back. He'll be fine.

Yup! The only thing is, these guys are so enthusiastic about food, you almost feel guilty about not feeding them even for a day.

nah, I fast mine once or twice a week to let his digestive path clear. Fish in the wild only eat every other day or so.

Mine have been eating once a day every other day since I've been on vacation.

yesterday i was a this petstore and say some food dispensers that ecery onece in a while let go some food. depending on the amount you feed them and everyday :D
