Wink Question about betta species

I am wondering about the different types of Betta that you see in the LFS. Sometimes they are called Super Delta, Half Moon, Butterfly, etc. Someone told me that the names are based on show standards but I have not been able to find very much reliable information about the exact differences. Any suggestions?

Those are not species. They are all variants of betta splendens (which is your common betta).

You have different variants based on the tail shape/design.

right... the tail... but what exactly are the definitions of the different types of tails.... I am really looking for more in-depth answers. Maybe there is a master betta keeper around this site????

I don't say I'm a master. But I know all the basics and wrote the Betta FAQ.

I'm talking about fin, as in tail-fin shapes.
Let me google that for you

You just go to that website, type in the keywords on the google part, and it gives you a link.

I find it funny.
