Quick Question?

I just got a betta today and I noticed when I let him into his tank, he would drift off to his side as though he was dying, but would swim again. He's doing just fine now, but I'm wondering if he is having issues or if I can relax? I'm freaking out but at the same time, I'm trying to stay calm.

Sounds like swim bladder problems. Fast him a couple days and see if it goes away.

It honestly looks a lot worse than it is, it sucks to watch them like that, but like LizabethDawn said, fasting is the best cure :) Some TLC is good for everyone.

I'm no expert but I recently bought two bettas. Both of them had trouble swimming when I put them in bigger tanks. The first one couldn't swim down- the second one had a hard time swimming to the top for air. In both cases, I think it was because they were sitting in those tiny cups for so long their little muscles atrophied or just didn't get used enough. They were both swimming normally within a day.
Good luck! :)

He has not done this since then. Maybe stress?
