Just became interested in Bettas...

Hi I'm new here, just registered today and have been reading threads on here for just a few days. Can't wait to tell you all about my betta that I plan to get. I have cared for a lot of fish in the past, but bettas just recently intriged me and I decided to get one and start up my tank again. I was wondering if you had any tips on the best kind to look for? Or anything a newbie betta owner should know? I DO know never to put two or more males together, anything else important?

P.S. I am going to get a manual for betta care as well.

Hello and welcome to the forum! Look for one that is active and looks healthy and has a bubblenest going in his cup. A 2.5 gallon or largertank is what is usually recommended. Also, a heater would be a good thing to have. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. :)

Sounds about right. Another thing is not to house males and females together. They'll fight just as much as two males. And no tank buddies unless you have a tank 10+ gallons. Drama pretty much covered everything else. Good luck
