My beta fish, Bob, just died. I don't know what I did wrong, it may have been the temperature. Anyway, I want to get a new one soon and was wondering what I should have and do so that this doesn't happen again. I have a 10 gallon tank, and a filter, but the filter may be too strong. Is that even possible? Also, can I put a snail in the tank with the new fish? Thanks!

sorry about bob and yes that is possible for the filter to be too strong well at least from what i heard and yes i think it would be good to put a snail back in the tank with a new fish so that way he will eat all of the uneaten food goos luck

If the tank wasn't cycled, you may want to cycle it first. It makes water changes easier.

What does that mean cycled? What are good brand of filters to get? How much decoration? Thermometers? Thanks!

The nitrogen cycle is the building up of beneficial bacteria in your tank. The bacteria converts ammonia, which comes from fish waste and uneaten food, into less harmful compounds.
