Hello, I was reading this site about a month ago and enjoying the pictures and information displayed here.
My 17 year old has a betta. I never paid attention to it as he is old enough to care for it. Well, I went in his room and the fish was in 2 inches of water and the water was filled with gunk. I am surprised he was alive. I took the fish away from him and of course had to give him a lecture. I put the fish, temporarily in a clear bowl of water and nursed him. He became a happy fish, swimming, eating, and bubbles.
Today my son got me a 2-gallon tank with all the equipment for me for my birthday. He set it up and we added the fish to the new tank. He is now my betta fish and I call him Cobalt. He is a cobalt blue fish. He loves his bigger tank and is swimming all around and from bottom to top. He has a real plant in there. We are going to add a hiding place when I find something I like.
This site is wonderful with information. All the information is opposite of what we were told to do to care for these fish. I am so glad I found this place.
