Cleaning acrylic tanks.

I'd like to reuse Oscar's 1 gallon tank and I was wondering if cleaning it with vinegar and water would sanitize it enough to be reused. The last two I threw out because I was afraid to reuse them. I could always buy another 1.5 gallon...

I think just using scalding hot water should do the trick

Boiling water should do it. Boil it in a pot and poor into the tank.

other option is hot water and bleach. rinse well, rinse again, rinse yet again, let it sit in the sun for a couple days then rinse again. clean and safe to use at that point regardless what was in there.

Yep what they said sounds good. That tank I had to clean from the reptiles, bleach worked. I sat it in the sun outside for 2 days.

A 5% dilute would be sufficient, but I would fill the tank 3/4 the way with hot water, then add half a cap full, put on some rubber gloves and a clean soft sponge for acrylic.

The key is rinsing, re rinsing, rinsing yet again, then rinse it. Put it in the sun for two days and rinse it another time or 4.
