Unhappy Best Way To Treat Fin Rot?

Ok, so I thought his frayed fins were a cause of the filter, but now his anal fin looks frayed as well, with some discoloration, and the ends look a brownish color. That was so weird because when I checked him an hour ago, fine, then 10 minutes ago, I look at his anal fin and it looks horrible! Does fin rot actually set in that fast?? Anyways, I still think the filter may have someting to do with it, so I took that out

So, I am asking you guys personally, what is the best way to treat fin rot that produces the best results?? Keep in mind, he is in a 2.5 gallon tank at the moment. PLEASE, if anyone can contribute, it would be much appreciated!

I've been reading about the use of Jungle Fungus Eliminator, is that pretty effective?

ok so I shouldn't medicate then? And if so, is there a certain type or brand of salt that you recommend? Thanks

Oh, and since I started noticing it yesterday, would it still be effective? Since it has been going on for about 2 days, how many baths should I administer a day?

maximum in a day is 5, I'd do 2 or 3 and see how it goes. I use API aquraium salt, but any aquarium salt will do.

I would not medicate unless it progresses. Salt baths and water changes should clear it up though.

So to do that, I would need to make a separate bath of salt for him, or would it be all right to do a 100% water changes daily in his tank along with a teaspoon of salt added to his tank each time? Or does your method provide better results? Sorry for all the questions, I just want Flapjack to get better...

Yeah, I would much rather just want to try the salt method, seeing as their are so many medications, and everyone has mixed reviews about them...

I would try the salt bath then if it doesn't work, use meds.

yeah, I'm hoping that will work, do I now have to change his water more frequently, or do I remain with the same weekly water changes?

Do daily water changes during the bath period. how big is his bowl, if it is less that a gallon you should be doing them at least twice a week normally.
