omg yes diapers
and the baby sitting thing is awesome too. I was lucky I had a roommate to help out so we had a babysitter on hand.

I don't know why everyone is always frantic about diapers when it comes to baby shower gifts and whatever, but I personally never had a moment when I was like "oh crap, I'm almost out of diapers" or "if only someone had gotten me diapers for my baby instead of ______" lol. I bought the 300 packs of huggies diapers for like $50 at costco and it would last me a month. And now at 2 yrs old, I buy the 90 packs at Walmart and it lasts me a month.

Diapers are not expensive at all, it's the FORMULA lol! Id spend $275 on formula alone every month because unfortunately my son had to be in the NICU when he was born and wasn't able to latch properly.

Honestly, and I'm not a mom, but I spent 24/7 with my sisters first 2 babies after they were born, the thing I would think most of is Ointments for diaper rash, baby lotion, (especially the bed time bath stuff in the purple bottle, it smells fantastic), baby powder, and baby oil. Plus one of those bottle organizer things, its a life saver, especially if you use the bottles with the multiple parts like dr browns. Plus a "Wubi" as I call them, the little blankets with the little stuffed animals in the center. Also a diaper organizer that hangs on the crib to hold diapers wipes and lotions.
