Yeah that would probably work. Just wash it really good.

Also, make sure it can hold water.

My 20 g Long is a reptile tank, I just made sure I washed it extra well to make sure nothing from it's previous inhabitant still lingered and made sure it held water. and it did both. Good Luck with using your tank!

BTW, does this mean you will be showing us some pics of it when it is put together?? (hint hint) :P ;)

It is not ideal to use a tank that has housed reptiles, but can be done. You will want to wash it with bleach and hot water. Then make sure it is well rinsed, out it in the sun for a couple days, then rinse several more times to get the bleach out.

The remains of reptile poo is very toxic to fish.

Yeah one of my 10 gallons was a reptile tank. Clean it with bleach water and let it sit in the sun for a couple days until the smell goes away. Then rinse again really well. Then it should be fine.

yep, lol. I have re purposed reptile tanks before, bleach is a must in this instance as reptile poo or it's residuals are very toxic to fish.

thanks for the advice, all of you. my mom has decided not to let me use it for the fish, because we have a sick baby tortoise that we might need the tank for, so i will probably go to petsmart or petco and buy a 10 gallon fishtank.

and i will get pics of the fish a soon as i get a good digital camera, my cell phone dont work so good
