Is my fish sick???

Hi again all,

Im a little bit worried about my betta....As I am a very inexperienced fish owner I'd prefer to be safe rather than sorry!....Plus you have all been really helpful so far!

So I just had a look at my little guy and it looks like he has white spot like things on his head, near his gills- on both sides! They are white/dark in colour and they dont look too good... Im ever so slighty freaking out...

He hasnt changed in his personality..and is still bright and chipper....but I'm so worried he is sick.

Any tips/ideas???

Does he look like he's been sprinkled with salt? If so, thats ick.

Hmmmm...No it doesnt look like salt...it looks like little white patches on his gill area...Im wondering if its part of his colouring? He has a white patch under his mouth...

It almost looks shiny...Im just confused...

Ive tried googling diseases...and the only thing it slighty resembles is a fungal disease...then again even that isnt exact...

Any ideas on what I should do?

It Could be his coloring. I would keep an eye on it for now if he's not showing signs of illness otherwise. Keep the water clean and if it looks like its spreading or getting worse then you can treat with meds.

Could be his coloring. But when my bettas are stressed, that happens to them. Hows his temp and if you have a water test kit, I would check up on everything.
