Scared me!

So I woke up today and turned on Shota's tank light (because his tank is right next to my bed) to find him motionless and resting on one of his plants.

I waited a few seconds and he didn't move, so I put him hand on the side of the tank and made a little tapping noise, since usually it'll catch his attention. But he didn't move.

Panicking now, I tried it again and with another failed attempt I sat up and opened the lid of my tank, and this movement shook his water slight and he FINALLY moved to made a dash into his cave.

T_T That gave me quite the fright...

Assuming that he was sleeping, is it normal for them to sleep so heavily? x_x It's the first time something like that has ever happened. He usually wakes up and starts to move around as soon as I turn on the light.

Some sleep deeper than others. Zeus is awake the minute he hears me turn the shower on in the morning, Ares needs me to turn his light on, then he snaps to life and comes up for food. I have to turn his light back off though as they are on a timer for the plants.

I have that problem with Jaden sometimes. He sleeps very soundly. It IS pretty scary! lol

Yep Merlin does it too. Freaked me out the first time.

Ahh sleep. An old (almost two years old, and still goin strong) male of mine sleeps on his side and if you tap his tank he lifts his head up and gives that "I was SLEEPING!!!" look. Very cute :)

But some do sleep very heavily.

Some like to sleep in wierd positions, too, like wedging themselves under rocks and turning themselves upside down to sleep. lol I had one that did this.

MrVampire, alpha did the same thing when he slept. i thought it was funny, because every time my mom would come in she thought he was dead, when infact he was sleeping

That would be scary to see your fish sleeping upside down! x_x !
Squirt likes to sleep under his plant. Then i need to turn on his light to wake him up. But they wake up when its light in the morning. So i dont usually have to do that. :P
