Question Some food issues

So I got a new betta about a week ago, and he won't eat a thing! I have three different food types, and he's just either looks at them and swims away, or eats it and then spits it back out. Other than this, he's healthy as can be, though he is a little lazy. I'm getting worried, since he hasn't eaten a thing since I got him. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can get him to eat?

What kind of food did you try with him? Bettas are extremely picky eaters! My betta will only eat Hikari Bio-gold pellets (well anything by Hikari really) but refuses TopFin brand foods. He also may be acclimating to his new home. Bettas can actually go awhile without eating, so don't worry that if he doesn't eat he'll die.

I agree with what dr2b said. He's probably just getting used to his new home and will eat when he's ready. Just keep offering him the food.

All right, thanks! And I have two different pellet types and some dried bloodworms. I'll try what you say. Hope it works, because I'm getting attached to the little guy.

Flair was my first betta. And I remember worrying like crazy because he wouldn't eat. He would take a bite and spit it out. I think he went close to a week like that. I wasted so much food trying to get the lil booger to eat lol.

Blue Bonnet kept spitting out the bio gold, then I switched to Wardleys and now she eats both! lol
