How many tetras can i fit in this tank?

i have a 5 gl tank with my betta (female if it matters) can i fit at least 3-4 tetras, because i know they are schooling fish.

No, you can not keep typical schooling fish in anything less than a 10 gallon, and many require at least a 20 gallon.

I agree with 10asartin. A 5 gallon tank is fully stocked (fish wise) with a single betta.

Even smaller species of schooling fish require more space than a 5 gallon tank as they are incredibly active and spend most of their time on the move.

You could try invertebrate such as snails or shrimp. However, personally I think a single betta in a 5 gallon tank is fine on its own.
