Post Going decoration shopping...

If anybody remembers my story, I don't have a betta yet but plan to VERY soon. As soon as I can get over to the pet store and get my tank set up. I'm already addicted thanks to you guys (lol) and I don't even have one yet.

So I was at the store the other day looking at all the aquarium deco, when I began to wonder... do I need to worry about the size of the whole in them? It didn't seem that the betta, fins and all, would be able to get through the holes without their fins touching it a lot. Will it hurt their fins? And also, I really liked the peices of fake coral, but I wasn't sure about the spikes on the ends for the same reason.

Here is a test you can try, take a pantyhose, and pull it over the decoration. If it snags, it's too rough.

PANTYHOSEN FTW!!!!!

Also, consider the decoration(s) should not take up all of the swimming room in the tank, savvy? :) Just a thought.
Good luck!

Thanks for the pantyhose trick lol, and its a 5 gallon, so there should be room for one swim-through thing. (plus plants of course!) lol
