Marineland vs Tetra

So I was looking at what to get for my first tank, and I had settled on a 6-gallon Eclipse by Marineland. However, with the fish I wanted, I saw the need to bypass that and get a 12-gallon tank, also by Marineland. However, it would seem their 12-gallon kit is pretty darn difficult to get and my local store has quite a range of products by Tetra. Are both companies pretty much the same quality-wise? Does the Whisper EX30 measure up to the Biowheel?

Thank you in advance for educating me!

I have the 5 gallon eclipse and I LOVE the bio wheel. I also have a five gallon tetra tank and its decent but the filter is louder and the hood is much more bulky so it doesnt look as nice.

Yeah, I agree. I had a bad experience with a Tetra filter, and from what I've read, the biowheel is very good. So, if possible, I would stick with Marineland.

I've never had Tetra... but I love my marineland. I have the Eclipse Corner 5. I love having the biowheel and it is so quiet!

I have my local pet store looking checking to see what Marineland tanks they can get, so hopefully I can get one soon.

The only thing that measures up to a bio wheel is a larger bio wheel ;) Have you considered ordering online?

Indeed, I have. I'm just leaving online sources as a last resort after trying my local merchants. Otherwise, Petsmart.com might be the way for me to go.
