I have a few questions about water changes during cycling with fish. I set up my 5 gallon with conditioned tap water about a week ago and had it running with the filter. When I brought kokomo home they sent me with a gallon and a half of "bacteria rich water" that they got out of one of their tanks so that I could add it to mine to help it cycle. So I took out about 2 gallons of the other water and replaced it with the water from the pet store, aclimated kokomo for about an hour and now hes in the tank. I'll take the water in today to get it tested and get some more test strips cause im out. My question is how often/ how much should I be doing water changes? and should they just be off the top or gravel vacumed?
