Question Fatty betta

This little pig's making me worried.

Okay, so I feed him 2 pellets in the morning, one in the afternoon, and 2 at night. I don't overfeed him, cuz he's not fat and yeah, but I don't underfeed him, but whenever I walk into the room, he's like "Gimme my stinkin food, im starving!" And goes to the top of the tank waiting. He only goes back to the bottom after a couple minutes, cuz then he knows Im not giving him food. He's always digging into the gravel looking for leftovers, and he sometimes eats his own poo! He tries to eat everything, and he's always hungry. Do I underfeed him? Or is there sumthing wrong with him? Or is he just a fatso.? :]

And he's not sick or anything, cuz he's always swimming around, and there's nothing wrong with his appearance. It's just his appitite.

Try giving him 3 pellets. He may just be very greedy!!!!

I would try 3 pellets in the morning and 3 at night and eliminate the afternoon feeding. Bettas always look like they are starving but they aren't. 2 in the morning and 2 at night are plenty but you can try 3 each time and see how he does.

I wouldn't give more the 4 pellets a day. Plus, take one day a week of fasting. They will literally eat themselves to death if given the chance. Believe me, he's not staving. :P

Most fish always act like that. All my fish always ate their poo before spitting it out. this is their way of seeing if it is food or not. Try giving him a little more but he is fine. All animals love food, and if they learn that certain actions or words are connected with food they will expect it. like walking into your room or for my dog, saying 'food' or looking at the clock and then walking towards the bowl in the evening. lol
