Homemade Hide :)

Hello!

I just wanted to share this homemade hide that I made for my newest boy, Thor. I used the smooth river rocks from beside our pool (thoroughly cleaned, several times) and aquarium silicone. It had to be constructed in stages because the silicone dries so slowly.

That's cute! Great job! Are they just silicones together or onto something?

Very cute! I tried that once, but apparently my rocks were too heavy because it collapsed on me, lol! :)

Yours looks great though, and I'm sure your guy will love it. :)

Thank you guys! :) The rocks are just silicones together- nothing underneath.

Mine kept falling apart at first too! I figured out the trick is to assemble it in stages.

I did a bottom layer of stones, then when that was dry, the second layer, so on and so forth. It was a very very slow process.

Very cool! I was thinking about doing that with hot glue.

I hope you post pictures, cowboy! :)

I actually tried hot glue first- I had to warm the rocks before it would stick. I soaked the hot glue hides before putting them in- they completely fell apart! I wonder if a different hot glue/letting it cute longer would yield different results?
