Would hawaiian lei flowers be safe?

Just remembered i had a rainbow lei from when i was a kid and was wondering if it'd be safe to take apart and use a couple flowers in my betta tank if i thoroughly soak them in hot water.

The flowers are on a string and are separated by little pieces of plastic so i don't know if the entire thing would be safe to put in a tank or not.... I'd rather take it apart and make something with it anyways.

Well, considering that they are made of the same fabric that 'silk' plants are made of, they should be fine. I own 3 silk plants, and my betta just loves them. I say go for it!

Yay!! yea i only use silk plants as of last year, i don't trust the plastic ones.
I used a few of the flowers for one of my betta's bowls and they're working very well. Thanks Charlotte. :)

Soak them for a few days in water just to make sure they don't bleed or make the water go cloudy, and you should be fine. :) It's only the possible dye's that might be different, but if they don't bleed, then you're safe. :)

After i soaked them in hot water for a looooong time, i poked some spines of 2 of my plastic plants through the tiny holes in the middle of the fabric flowers and stacked them up :D i also set a few on the surface of the water in a couple of my tanks.
one of the plants is in my baby Alice's bowl. She loves exploring! Please excuse the reflections in the bowl photos.

wow that is really a cool idea, I might do that for my mom some day as she is a traditional Hawaiian dancer.

For myself I prefer live plants but this is still such a cool idea you have.
