I fed my new Betta fish 2day, in total he ate 6 little pellets (not all at once 3 in the morning and 3 in the afternoon). Hes not too big so i don't think i should feed him that much, but every time i go up two his bowl he looks so hungry. He comes up to the top and looks for food. I don't want to feed him to much but I don't know if i am feeding him enough and he is hungry. Do you think I should feed him more or just wait till 2morrow morning to feed him a few pellets?? Or should i just feed him like 1 or 2 tonight?? I heard that they will always want more food but its just SO TEMPTING lol


Edit: i overcame it and will not feed my betta too much even though they have the feed me look lol

Betta's always have the "feed me" look. lol. I always want to feed mine but have them on a good diet. I feed them 3 pellets in the morning in the morning at 3 at night. Wednesday and Saturday morning I give them about 4-5 blood worms. Monday morning I give them shrimp and Sunday I fast them.

Yes, its tempting to give them more but 3 in the morning and 3 in the afternoon is plenty. He's not starving, he just acts like he is. lol

Oh I know. Mine give me such big "Puppy dog eyes" it so hard not to feed them! Fasting day is sooo hard.

I have to lock the food up when I have guests over, too many times I have found friends with pellets in hand.

Friend: "But they look hungry, he came up to the front to greet me then went straight to the surface to accept food, I saw your food in the den so I got some"

me: "put down the fish food and back away from the tank"

friend: "but..."

me: "put down the fish food and back away from the tank"

friend: "umm, but.."

me: "now please. NOW"

LOL Neenjar. Nice. Yeah I get scared about people feeding mine too. But I don't think anyone actually has, which is nice.

lol! I have a thing about people touching my stuff without my permission so I would probably be really mad if someone fed my fish without my permission!!
