Post Unhealthy Male

I've had my male VT (which I named Osiris) for almost a week now, and I've noticed some things that might be problems that i wanted to clear up with you guys.

First, he seems to be really inactive. He just sits either on the bottom of the tank or lays on his fake plants, and only swims up to flare and try to chase the female on the other side of the divider. Is he just lazy or is something wrong?

Secondly, he will not eat anything except freeze-dried bloodworms. Although I've already read some threads about this and I'm going to the store soon to buy some different brands and maybe some brine shrimp.

And last of all, it seems he has fin problems. (Probably from spending time in Walmart) His Pelvic Fin is very stringy, I dont know if this is normal since he is a VT but the fins just don't look normal. And his Dorsal Fin is starting to get holes/slits where the fin meets his body. I'm not sure if this is possible fin rot or if its just the natural clumping of his fin. I've already gave him 2 salt baths a day for the last couple of days.

Any advice is appreciated.

Well I can't help much with the 3rd issue. But the first two issues I think is just him trying to acclimate to his new home. Give him some time. And as for the feeding just try some other brands of pellets. Offer them daily, but don't leave them in the tank. They can go a while without food, and when he gets hungry enough he will eat :)

Well he has plenty of places to go and hide, but i do need to put some more plants in the tank. (he only has a few)

But thanks for the info, i'll look into the air bubble thing.

yeah i agree with dr2b he proably just needs to get used to the surroundings but he may also be stressed out so if you see horizontal lines he is either frightend or stressed
