Do you think his fins got caught in the intrake and it scared him and that's why he was hiding?

I don't know. Ever since he messed his tail up he has been looking pretty down or tired. He is hanging on one part of the tank or in the back part of it. Thing is he kept going back to the intake tube after it happened and laying up against it.

He is swimming normally though. He swims around for awhile then goes down to the gravel and lays partly on his side (as he used to do when I first got him). We gave him a salt bath and he was acting okay. Hopefully the salt bathes with help him.

I hope so. I hate not seeing him his normal self. Makes me worried sick. Especially with the fact I am actually going to be out of town next week. I never leave to go anywhere - why couldn't he wait till after I got back?

Funny, i just got the same problem this morning. Osiris's dorsal fin was looking kind of bad and then the next morning it was gone. I also just got a new filter for my tank, but i'm not sure if thats the reason or not.

Well I gave Flair his first salt bath Friday night, and by Saturday morning he was acting like his old self. Friday he wouldn't even come up to the front of the tank when my mom and I would go near it. But on Saturday morning he was "wagging" his body and flapping his little fins like no tomorrow. And he was back to his normal flaring at Synthisis while he was sleeping in haha (he flares at him and looks over like "aren't you going to look at me?" while he sleeps). His tail looks the same to me, but I'm happy he is acting normal again. I have only been able to give him two salt baths so far...but I am going to give him another here in a bit.

Here's some new photos.

We are thinking more of his tail may have ben damaged then originally appeared. Noticed one of the spikes on his lower fin was dangling last night also, now tonight a good bit of his tales are just smooth on the outer edge.

Rather worried, seeing I go out of town tomorrow going to Synthisis's house, looking for some input!

It was originally torn up from the filter intake tube, which she covered with a stocking.

Im not sure what could have done the damage to the lower tail...

Could the ottos be to blame/
