Haldir Rests

My first betta - Haldir. I only had him for about a year and a half, but I cannot count how many times he lifted my mood and generated a laugh or a smile when I really needed it. This morning, he gave up his fight with an opportunistic protozoan called Epistylis. Some would say he is only a fish, but he was so much more than that to me. I surprise myself - I've shed many tears this day, missing him painfully.

So, rest well my little friend, and I'll see you again somewhere, someday.

I'm really sorry for your loss, he looks so cute. I've actually never heard of,Epistylis but I haven't heard of a lot of things. May Haldir rest in peace under the rainbow bridge.

Epistylis is the proper name for Red Sore Disease. Sorry for your loss. SIP Haldir.

Swim in peace, Haldir, may you comfort those who have quietly perished in stores under the rainbow bridge

My heart bleeds any time I have been witness to the dead and dying bettas in stores. Thank you for remembering those less fortunate finned ones, as well as my Haldir.
