Help!

Okay so I put Merlin and Fishy in the same tank, the on that I divided into 3. Turns out Merlins a sneaky little butt head and somehow made it over to Fishy's side! Fishy is missing a nice piece of his back fin and there's damage to the others. I took Fishy out and put him in the bowl with some betta fix. I'll treat him with some JFE eventually too. I lowered the water levels and checked the dividers. The only way I can think that Merlin got to him was because the water level in the tank was high. Any advice?? Here's some pics.

Oh no!! I'm sorry! I would defiantly do salt baths so fin rot doesn't start. He will get better with good care. Don't worry. I would get some aquatic glue and glue the dividers in place.

i've heard of this...lets see if i can explain it right lol

buy another plastic mesh like the one u use to make ur own dividers and place it horizontally on top of ur divider so they wont be able to jump over to the other side and if you have a lid which you most likely do it hides the extra mesh you put on to.

Sorry to hear about Fishy! I'd definitely be doing salt baths for him. I've been doing them for Flair and his tail is starting to look a little better I think - not as mangled as Friday. I hope Fishy gets better quickly!

Thanks guys. I've done one salt bath already. I'm also going to get him a dose or two on JFE to make sure he doesn't get fin rot. I just hate waiting for fins to grow back. It takes forever. But I'll deff do the salt baths and I'll try the thin you said Wed. Thanks!

Poor Fishy! I hope the salt baths help. I think using JFE or Betta Fix will help prevent infection.

Yep I have Bettafix in his water right now and I've done 3 salt baths today. And like I said I'll put some JFE in his water just in a few days just to be on the safe side. I can't believe how sneaky Merlin is. I did the thing that Wed said to do.

Okay, so good news. I was looking at my babies and Fishy seemed to be trying to get my attention. I started looking at him and he was looking good! I mean he's still got a few holes and spots. But you know how in those pics where he's missing a good section of his tail? Well where its split the two ends are fusing together. So now it's almost one tail again. I know he won't be a beautiful as he was before, but he's a trooper and he's healing very well. I put some JFC in his tank to help the process.

Yay glad the fin is growing back! Now to get Flair's to grow back lol.
