New tank, help stock!

I have a 10 gallon now and I'm anxious to get it up and running! I got it for 6.50 at goodwill and I just couldn't leave it. I have one Betta that I'm going to be putting in there and would like some nice tetras and maybe some little cories. I'd like to know what other people have successfully put in their 10 gal. I also want to eventually put some live plants in there too. Thoughts?

Get some shrimp! They are fun to watch, I have some Sakura Red Shrimp, some Sunkist shrimp and some Ghost shrimp. They live well with my Betta.

My 10 gallon community currently has one male betta, five green cories, two African dwarf frogs, and one mystery snail. Everyone gets on fine for the majority of the time. Sometimes Romeo (the betta) chases the cories, but it seems more for fun than aggression. And occasionally if Romeo gets in the paths of the frogs while they're feeding, he'll get his fins nipped.

Rasboras would also be good additions. They're super pretty!

:) Ooo cories sound fun! I did decide to not put my betta in the 10 gallon, instead he is getting a 3 gallon all to himself. But I still want something nice in the 10 gallon. I was thinking maybe a single dwarf gourami and some guppies? I'm still not sure.... in part because I want to get enough to keep everyone happy but not overcrowd. XP

Gourami's carry a disease that can be fatal to livebearing breeds of fish. You would have to research that carefully to make sure your guppies don't die!
