Exclamation Pretty sure my fish has some sort of Illness or Illnesses.

Housing
What size is your tank? 3.5 gallons.
What temperature is your tank? 79 degrees.
Does your tank have a filter? No.
Does your tank have an air stone or other type of aeration? No.
Is your tank heated? Yes, 25W.
What tank mates does your betta fish live with? None.


Food
What type of food do you feed your betta fish? NutraFin Max Betta Floating Pellets
How often do you feed your betta fish? Once a day, 1-4 pellets.

Maintenance
How often do you perform a water change? Once a week.
What percentage of the water do you change when you perform a water change? 50%.
What type of additives do you add to the water when you perform a water change? NutraFin AquaPlus

Water Parameters:
Have you tested your water? If so, what are the following parameters?

Ammonia: Ammonia meter is yellow indictating its safe
Nitrite: N/A
Nitrate: N/A
pH: N/A
Hardness: N/A
Alkalinity: N/A

Symptoms and Treatment
How has your betta fish's appearance changed? He has lost alot of color, protruding eyes, ripped/torn fins, looking bloated.
How has your betta fish's behavior changed? Lays by the bottom of tank alot... Stayed in one corner water level in his floating log. Not eating everyday.
When did you start noticing the symptoms? August 30th 2013
Have you started treating your fish? If so, how? Yes, giving him a tsp of MelaFix. Also have Aquarium Salt and PimaFix on hand.
Does your fish have any history of being ill? Yes.
How old is your fish (approximately)? I purchased him March 2nd 2012.

Please Help :( I've been trying to give him the utmost care since day one and hate seeing him this way.

That's a pretty radical change in appearance. I'm pretty sure it a water quality issue, but in the absence of test numbers have nothing to base thst on.

I would start by doing a series of four 25% water changes. Wait 15 minutes between each water change.

Then, do a 50% water change every other day for a week. (Or do daily 25% water changes, if that's easier.)

Like Rickey, I suspect there's an issue with the water quality. A 3.5 gal tank with no filter, in which the water is only changed 50% once a week, will slowly build up toxins and bacteria. These could be affecting his health.

Hopefully, the increased water changes will help him. If they don't, let us know. Keep us updated!
