New to bettas!

Hi everyone i got my first crowntail betta. he is a deep red colour with an indigo glow very pretty. I have a question about it. He is in a 10gal tank with filter... i noticed he is hideing alot and being agressive scooting when i go up to the tank to feed him, is this normal? i placed some peas cooked and tropical flakes but he wont eat them. thanks.

I would try feeding him pellets. Some bettas don't like flakes and I wouldn't feed peas all the time because it itsn't good for them. Bettas are carnivorous.

A 10 gallon is definitely not too big. He'll enjoy all that room plus you can add some plants and cool decorations to a tank that size.

he will enjoy the 10 gal much more, keep him, he'll love it. and it is normal for them to be shy the first few days.

Yeah he can stay in the 10 gallon. But don't feed him peas. And bettas usually love pellets.
