A female? :D

Well, a couple of weeks ago, I had Pax and Sammy in a divided tank. Did fine for the first day, then pax bit off his tail. He went back to the 2 gallon. I just put him back in yesterday to see if it would be any different if there were a BUNCH of plants in front of the divider. Did fine yesterday, today, a chewed up tail. I feel really bad now. So, I put him in the other 10 gallon tank, that has two dividers. I put him on the farthest side so he couldn't see rune. So, my question is, if I were to divide my other 10 gallon in three, do you think he would get mad with being next to a pretty little female? I think he would love it. But, I don't know. Any thoughts? I've been wanting a female for a while now.... So maybe this all happened for a reason!

Are you sure it's him chewing it up and it's not from getting caught in the plants or decorations? I had one that was chewing up his tail pretty bad and I couldn't stop him, so I after a few days I returned him to the petstore where the lady accused me of putting him in with another male- which of course I hadn't done. She gave me my money back but she didn't like it. I think he was just stressed from being shipped around and he couldn't relax even after I had got him home.

Yep. He has the same plants in his 2 gallon and has never gotten ripped fins before.

You could try a female and see how he does. It might distract him from biting his tail.

He never bites his tail when he is in the two gallon, so I don't know. I don't have money to get him a nice tank right now.

I would just keep him in the 2 gallon then, if he's happiest there.

Yeah, I probably will. It is only a bin though.

Nope, a storage bin. Haha. It worked well for him when he had SBD because it is longer then a regular tank.
