You may have heard from me before. I'm the whacko who's taking her betta to college. I decided that it would be much easier for me to have a tank at college and a tank at home rather than to be lugging one back and forth during breaks and extended weekends and such. So I found a used 10 gal with most of the accessories and equipment for $40.
It's been very lightly used, and everything appears to be in good condition. I just need to get a heater and a few plants/hide outs to add and I should be set. I wanted to know what the best method of cleaning and sanitizing this tank would be, though.
I agree with the above. Also though, if you use bleach make sure you rinse really well, let it set in the sun for 2 days and rinse REALLY well again. You can never rinse too much.
It might also be a good idea after the cleaning to test your water and see where the levels are at. Just to be sure you rinsed enough. :)
