Question Small Hole in Anal Fin

Ok, so I noticed my halfmoon betta Pip, has a small hole in his anal fin. He is in a 1 gallon filtered tank, and there are no sharp objects in his tank.

I would like to know if I should medicate with Jungle Fungus Clear, just as a precaution, or what would be the best thing to do?

I would say do salt baths. I know Neenjar had found a pinhole or two in Zeus's fins, and salt baths cleared them up (someone correct me if I'm wrong please)

Give him salt baths for a few days, and if it doesn't heal up or gets worst, switch to medication D:

I use Maracyn 1&2 in combination as medicine.

@dr2b: :P no you're right! I remember him saying that too!

Ah ok lol. Good to know my memory is still good since I been out of classes for the summer :) My mind becomes a little foggy or slow when I'm not in classes haha.

Lol, ok, but I tried doing those with Flapjack and he just got worse, and I really dont' want to be taking him in and out of his tank, so can I just add probably like a teaspoon of salt to his main tank(1 gallon), I do water changes every 4-5 days.

I'd say that should be okay. I gave up doing real salt baths with Flair because he was just getting to stressed out. Since his tail was messed up, I been doing more frequent water changes and just adding 1/2-1 teaspoon each time I do a water change.

Thanks, that's what I'm going to do, would a teaspoon be fine though for a gallon tank? And it has to be predissolved right?

I know what you mean ~_~ I hate netting Shota out and he hates being netted out too... I wish he weren't so skittish, and nice like my girls who will let me gently scoop them out with my fingers.

I know Betta fish have a resistance to salt, but I don't know if it's healthy for them living in high concentrations of it for long periods of time, hence why we give them salt baths. ):

I predissolve mine in some of the tank water in a separate cup. I would do a half teaspoon at first, then add another half teaspoon like 24-48 hours later. That way he isn't shocked by a ton of salt being added.

Well, he will just be in it at the most 4 days, and then I will do a water change
