Is it his jar?

So my black lace delta tail (which by the way he finally blossomed into a halfmoon) has fin rot...AGAIN.

He never has a problem with his fins when he's in a spawning tank (I like to use spawning tanks for taking pics too, that's why he's in them so much). But as soon as I put him back in his jar he has frayed fins. So placed him in a 20 gallon tub half filled and treating with Ampicillin and salt baths. But EVERY TIME I put him in his jar he gets fin rot. I change the water every four days and if he gets a bad case of fin rot every day. I think it's the jar. What do you think?

Btw his jar is 1/2 gallon.

It could be the size of the jar. Maybe he just needs something a little bigger since he's prone to finrot.

I agree with drama....But if you have nothing else...try to change the water everyday no matter if he has fin rot or not..This will prevent a lot of illnesses!

I think it's the jar. The size. I think that since his fins are so big that when you put him in the smaller tank, he gets stressed because of how big he feels.

Its hard to maintain water quality in that size container.
