Today, I was thinking about the wonderful 5 gal. that I plan to buy when I get done buying textbooks for this Fall semester.

I've been planning to put Tian-Tian and Taco as roomies in a split tank now that both boys are back to normal (for those of you who have been following Tian-Tian's saga, he fought off a serious case of ich and fungus. He pulled on through stronger than ever and healthier than ever (not to mention PRETTIER!!)).
So here's when things get interesting: I originally planned to get rid of my other tanks (my two current ones).
And then I thought:
why not get a female and house her in the 2.5 gal?
So I need to know a few things:
- Do females live about the same lifespan as males do?
- In the far future,
IF I were to plan breeding, would either of my boys be too old for her? (I feel like a matchmaker, haha! *cue Fiddler on the Roof music*)
- Housing requirements: smaller size?(I've seen some tiny, tiny girls around) Bigger size (just because girls might need more space)? Same size as my boys ('cause she's still a Betta at heart?)?
- Feeding requirements: max amount of feed? And is it the same kind of pellets?
If I think of any more questions, I'll ask.

Should I go for it (when finances come in)?
Thanks, y'all!
