Babbling About Bettas

Hey just got my betta tank going.

Have to admit that I only went with a 1 gallon, filtered tank but my little buddy seems happy enough in it. I'm going to PetSmart to get some good eats for him right now.

Wish us luck!

P.S. Feel free to babble about your betta on this thread!!!

I got him some betta pellets for the staple diet and some blood worms for alternating diet to keep him interested in eating consistently from day to day. I will probably feed him the blood worms every 3-4th day, and "fast" him one day a week to keep him semi-hungry.

If you do not alternate food and fast a betta, they may either lose interest in their diet and the food will simply rot in your tank causing undesired effects to your tank conditions.

If you ever want some other treats for him, most bettas love frozen foods such as brine shrimp and daphnia. I use daphnia after fast day because it is good for the digestive tract :)
