Opinions on my 2.5 gallon tank please!

I just started this 2.5 gallon I got from a buddy. It's uncycled, but I have had luck before with just tap water in a regular fish bowl with a betta that lasted 2 years before it died. This time I have an actual tank with a Tetra Whisper filter and Tetra HT10 50W heater. Only thing I used with this time is just water conditioner and I plan on doing 50% water changes weekly which I think would work just fine. Just want opinions or comments on my setup and fish!

Am no expert by any means, but it looks as though that is a good setup!

that should be fine, just remember to monitor the ammonia/nitrate/nitrite levels for now while it is still cycling. you will probably have to do daily or every other day water changes until it is cycled to keep the ammonia down.

Nice - and beautiful fish! I love the driftwood piece. What is your fish's name?

fish has no name, and it's not driftwood, it's just a decoration piece i picked up from petco, unless that's what it's called :/ As for cycling..I don't have to add any more water conditioner as I do the partial water changes or do I?

So cools! :D 2.5 gallons usually look smaller, but your looks roomy! Whats your fish's name? He's super cute!

What a nice tank! :D I have a 2.5 as well :) I would suggest getting a taller plant in there for your fish because mine likes to sleep near the surface of the water, so he sleeps on his tall plant :) :)

A very nice setup though! :)

I don't know about anyone else, but I have a couple of 3 gallon unfiltered tanks and I always condition the tap water when I do partial changes. Better safe that sorry for me (my tap water is yucky).

yes, always condition any water you put in your tanks. love your fish btw, hes super cute!! i'd also say to put a taller plant in there, or maybe look into live ones, a marimo balls easy to care for and super cute and'll help keep your ammonia levels down! but otherwise, you have a really nice setup! :)
