Question Tank mates?

Ok, so Kasem's tank is relatively small but I was wondering if there's any possibility I'd be able to give him a friend. I've been thinking about asking my dad for a snail but I know absolutely nothing about them. Help?

Mmm.. Not sure. But soon I will be getting about a 5 gallon. Anything that will work in there?

Theres actually quite a bit you could keep in a five gallon.
Its just how high of maintenance do you want?

You could easily keep a nerite or two in a five gallon, or a single ramshorn, not sure about mysterys or ponds though as they can both get quite large.
You could keep some small shrimp, however they would likely become lunch for your betta.

What kinds of fish other than bettas could i keep in a 3 gallon? Would a nerite or ramshorn be ok in a 3 gallon?

I personally wouldn't add any fish besides a betta in a 3 gallon.
Ive kept both nerites and ramshorns in 3 gallons with bettas.
I would only recommend keeping 1 ramshorn in a three gallon. You could keep 2 nerites.
You could keep another nano fish in there but i would HIGHLY recommend you don't.
I could predict two things happening. Ether your betta would be stressed, or it would kill the nano fish. Not to mention the bioload.

If the 5g was cycled and had some live plants, I would add a Mystery snail. Nerites and ramshorns have no personality. Mysteries are funny and love to jump off of high things and guide themselves down onto plants. Regular water changes.

And if you will buy new snail or fish always quarantine it before you put it in the tank to make sure its healthy and don't contaminated your tank.
