What does fin rot look like?

I can't seem to find pictures of what fin rot really looks like. I noticed some white tipping on my red betta today. Could this be fin rot???

If his fins are getting shorter or appear to be shredding and/or deteriorating away, that's usually a good sign of fin rot D:

if the white stuff seems to be a bit fuzzy looking, it might be fungus and I'd recommend you change his water and treat him with that jungle fungus eliminator :S But don't comment me on that just yet... xD

Someone posted a betta disease site... its definately not fin rot and its not fuzzy. I think I may be overreacting. I don't see anything on there that looks like the white tips I'm seeing. I will keep an eye on him though and do some tank maintenance to be sure. Thank you for your response... I appreciate it.

Fin rot can also be small holes in fins, be sure to watch out for that. :)

If it's clearish looking then it's probably just fin growth. The color doesn't come in until later.

Just keep the water clean, and if it starts to be a problem, then keep us posted. :D
