my poor pedro pimp fish i think he has fin rot....

my poor fish i think he has fin rot....so i did a salt bath with aquarium salt and water...1/2 tsp per cup of water...i hope that was right...he got mad as heck....poor thing and acted like he was dying after only 8 minutes so i took him out...i did it in a seperate container than his aquarium...this is his aquarium it is a 1/2 gallon one.So What i am wondering is that how the fish react to the salt baths and should i add aquarium salt to his tank on a regular? Sorry this is my first fish so i have no clue...i think it is fin rot his fin looks like it is shredding a little and he has white on his fins and on his body too....is that right

the top picture is him after the salt bath idk how well you can see it but he has white all over his fins...

Some fish react differently to aquarium salt. I'd put 1/4 of a teaspoon of the salt instead, I have my fish in a 1/2 gallon too, he has ripped fins and a little bit of fin rot, so I put 1/4 teaspoon of salt in there twice a day, I also do 100% water changes every day.

I gues I cant really tell from the picture if he has fin rot or not. Just to be safe I'd put a bit of aquarium salt in there, and if he cant handle it take him out.

Your fish most likely reacted so badly to the salt bath, becuase it requires I teaspoon of aquarium salt per gallon of treated water.

Yeah. Put in 1/4 of a teaspoon in instead.
