Talking New boy - Castiel!

Well, I came home from my father's house yesterday to a beautiful Crowntail Betta! He has a pink body (camera flash shows green hiding in there) and red fins. He also has a blue spot in his eyes and a red spot on his head, with pink/green inbetween the spikes of his fins. Absolutely stunning. He's been behaving oddly, though.. He NEVER stops flaring, and has a habbit of flaring at the gravel at the edge of the bowl. When flaring, it's just his fins and not his gills. He is in a bowl a bit larger than a baseball at the moment, but I will move him into a one gallon vase this weekend when I get my fish for the 32 gallon. He loves the dark so much better than the light and I just had to do a photo shoot at 3am this morning when I saw him through the dim light. I am just wondering if there is anything wrong with him? My mum fed him six pellets and they were gone when I turned out the light but they sat there for some time. I can't do PWCs unless she isn't home, and tonight isn't an option. Tomorrow after the first day of school I'll do one if you all think it's nessicary. Here are some photos and a video of this odd behavior gravel behavior.

Other than that, he seems to be fine. No signs of finrot, illness or anything. I love my little Castiel. He's a real joy to have.

Is he okay, though? I want to make sure whatever his affinity for the gravel is, that it's not going to cause any damage now, or later on down the road.

I don't think there's anything really wrong with him, he just doesn't have much room to swim. Also the water may be too cool for him, as betta like water between 76-82 degrees. He's gorgeous tho, congrats! I imagine his true personality will show once you get him in a larger home :)

Okay, thank you. So he should be okay? I might move him now.... Hmmmm.... I don't have the lamp on at night and it gets pretty chilly. He flares up largest then. I'll start keeping the lamp on later.

I would definitely get him a bigger home, if you can and I think the lamp will help to heat his water, as well.

The gallon vase turns out to be a half gallon vase, but he is loving his new home. As soon as he went in, I put some freeze-dried bloodworms in and he stalked and ate them. (it was adorable to watch!) I put my finger in his old bowl and I couldn't tell from sense of touch it was even in there so the water wsa fairly warm. It was a little warmer in the new bowl, but he seems to be adjusting fine. Watching him stalk his food was just adorable. I am considering getting him a lady friend and putting them in the 10 with a divider. Maybe even getting some little fishies out of the two.(: I want to name his girl Joey. Then I'll have an empty vase that will need another fishy.(:

Ah, it seems you do, AngelicScars! How do you pronounce your boys' name? I pronounce mine Cass-tea-L

Sorry, but no. ): I don't watch the tele that often. That is a show on the tele, correct? I'm actually thinking about re-naming him. Any suggestions?
