HELP! Water still cloudy!

Okay so here's what happens... after i do the 50% water change the water is cloudy again within a half hour of completion! HELP! AND i think midnight has finrot so i need some help with that. So what am i gonna do about his water? By the way, i cant get a test kit right now but i can get the water tested every so often by the fish store. PLEASE HELP! ( By the way he lives in a 2.5 filtered and heated tank all by himself.)

I would change the water completely in a 2.5 gallon.

ok i think i know what the prob is. What i think i will do is just do 50-75% water changes every 3 days and i found out what the "fin rot" was! I just finished a 75% water change and i noticed something thin and blue on a fake plant and it was part of his fins! I removed the sharp plant and i think he will be ok. How long does it take for his fins to grow back by the way and i have some melafix if i need meds for him but if i need to use meds how much should i put in and how often for a 2.5 gallon? It says one teaspoon per 10 U.S gallons.

Um I was just saying on another thread that Flair tore part of his caudal and anal fin off on july 31st and he has finally had regrowth now. I think he has like a half inch or so left (give or take). I'd do salt baths on him.

How do you do a salt bath and do you do it in the tank he normally lives in?

You usually do the salt bath in a different container. It is also good to add it to their tank too.

thanks everyone! I gave him his first salt bath today and no problems at all! AND i finally got my hands on some fd bloodworms so he will get a special treat tomorow! AND one more thing! I found out why the water is so cloudy : I was changing the water too much!! So i will do smaller changes and see how it works out!
