Exclamation inflamed gills help!

OK, this is my little sisters halfmoon male betta, he looks like he is puffed up(like when he gets excited) but now its only his gills, and he isnt acting normal, he was in his own tank and has never been with any other fish, i dont know whats going on and what to do

and he is in a salt bath right now, but it doesnt seem to be helping much

just crious what size tank and may we see a picture please then maybe try a salt bath or some medcine but dont quote me in no profensonal

It would help if you could get him a bigger home like a gallon or larger. Water quality is hard to maintain in a small container.In a container that size, you'll need to change the water about every 3 days.

she changes the water about every 3 days, at most 5 here is what they look like when he breathes
