HELP! Swim Bladder Disorder!!

Heyy! Im new here and im in need of help.

i've had Tommy (my betta) for a year now.

For the past few weeks he has been swimming on his side and barely moving. I never really noticed but i did research last night. And i think he has a swim bladder disorder. He's showing all the symptoms. He's loosing color, his stomach looks bloated, and hes unbalanced. So i tried the Pea's treatment. But he wont eat it at all! I even tried putting different variety of foods (flakes, bloodworms, pellets) but hes still not eating. All he does is stay sideways up at the top.

How can i help him? And i heard a salt bath is good but im new to this and i dont know anything about that. HELPPP

Hello and welcome to FishForum. If he has swimbladder disorder, and it sounds like he does, fasting is the best thing for him right now. He may be constipated. I had one that was constipated and didn't eat for a week! How much do you feed him?

the thing is, Tommy is a family fish sort of. So everyone feeds him. And im always at school so i dont know how much they do. But when i get home i do feed him a few pellets. I think he's eaten alot though. OMG i heard constipation can lead to deaths. :( i dont want tommy to die

I agree with dramaqueen - fast him for a few days. Bettas should only be fed 2 times a day and 2-3 pellets at a time. If you have to, put a note on the tank saying "DO NOT FEED" so he gets fasted.

i guess i could try this fasting treatment. Here's a picture i just snapped of him.



as you can see he's sideways! this picture is tooken from the top. hes not dead! but hes sideways, AT THE TOP! im really concerned. hes loosing his color too. Look at his belly! OMG i hope this fasting treatment works :(
