Question Are Chloramines Safe For Betta's?

Could Chloramines in the water seriously hurt a fish. On commercials they have said that chloramines are dangerous dangerous to fish.

Very much so, most water conditioners are for Chlorine, and Chloramines, so if you're using a conditioner you should be fine.. check the label on the bottle :)

You should use a water conditioner like Prime or Amquel to take the Chlorine and Chloramines out of your tap water, it comes in a bottle and you just add a few drops depending on the size of the tank. There's also one called Betta Plus that comes with most Betta starter tanks.

Aqua Safe is another good brand and yes, the chlorine and chloramines need to be removed to make water safe for fish.

I'm going to Petsmart later this evening to get a new betta so I'll check out what they have. Clyde did die shortly after the chloramines were added to the aquaduct water so that and old age might be what did him in.
