New Sponge filters!

I installed my new sponge filters in each of my 5 gallon tanks. So far so good! They fit in there just perfectly so that the bottom 1/3 of the exhaust is below the waterline. It almost acts like a HOB, as the water flows out at the top. So far I love them. Hope they stay in good condition.

Attached to Whisper 10 pump.

No moving parts. They last forever. Airpumps last almost forever.

The outlet should be underwater. An inch below the surface is fine. Not critical at all.

I can't get it to go under the water unless I were to fill my tank to the tippy top. I thought I could turn it sideways, but the bubbles don't go the right direction then. Could I possibly tilt it at and angle?

It's acrylic; it's easy to cut off. Easiest is with a hacksaw (finer is better) Wrap a couple of layers of masking tape around where you want to cu. Cut shallow all around and around and around.....

I really does work better with the riser tube submerged.

Wait. What kind of filter did you get?

I'll see if it is possible to shorten the exhaust tube.

Yeah but it sits to high on the tube. I had to remove and cut both tubes.
