Heating Living Space

Hello my people :D

I'm newish here so, yeah, but I'm excited which is awesome.

Okay, so, my question is:

I'm currently keeping my male CT in one of those Walmart-y Betta tanks (bad, I know, but I don't have the money for anything bigger right now) he has a fake plant in with him which he loves to hide behind and meander around which is fun. My apartment is freakishly warm and with the thermometer in there I know that his tank water stays between 76 and 78 degrees consistently. With that in mind, and the fact that his tank is so small, I wanted to know if I need a heater. From what I've read I'm thinking that he's good to go. But would just like some more experienced Bettaisseurs to weigh in here.

Thanks!

- Jonsie

Well, when the weather gets colder, you should get a heater to keep the tank at a constant temp.

If the apt stays this warm though, and the water temp is consistent, it's good?

None of my tanks are heated because its warm enough to not require it. Constant temperature is no trouble at all since my living space is climate controlled, so it doesn't matter how cold it gets outside.

So, if the temp in your place will remain in the 70s through the winter, then no you will not need a heater.

as long as your temp. is consistent, you're fine. It's just that in a small tank, the temperature can fluxuate.
