Is that a Worm on my Betta?

I posted this in the regular fishforum, but no-one could help me...
My Betta is in a community tank, a coupla days ago I saw something
long & white attached between his/her pectoral fins. This "thing" was
sort of flat & almost transparent/whitish with what looked like a head
and possible darker/guts inside. ONE thing, not lots like anchor worms etc.

It dropped off as I watched & the next day there was another there.
They come & go. Betta seems healthy, eats & swims fine.

I have researched this for days & asked various petshop owners locally.
No-0ne knows what is happening.

I was told to quarantine the betta & treat for parasites...
I was told to leave him in tank & treat whole tank for parasites (I have snails & shrimp too tho - & they would have to be removed).

I hate to treat him when I don't know for sure what's up.
Today he has nothing on him... I have a link to pix (the best I could get)

I was then searching betta anatomy & wondered could I have a female?
This is the place where they are pregnant etc..where I have seen the "things".

Does not match up with any pix of any parasites etc that I could find.
Any help MUCH appreciated!

I'm prreeeeeetty sure it's just poop, since it's coming from his underbelly xD Sometimes the poop gets stuck on their fins.

What do you feed him? Poop can come in different shapes and colours depending on what you feed him. Like if you feed them blood worms the poop is usually is light brown with bits of transparency in it, pellets it's often pink, and flakes I've noticed it's a rich auburn.

He looks like a guy for sure though. Unless you see a white spot between his ventral fins. If he gets bloated, he might just be constipated.

If its white and stringy, it could be parasites.

weird thing is.. he is fine - off n on,,,
nothing today...
clean & swimming fast...
it's not ANY of the things I've seen online!
NO pix are like it...I'm chillin w/him... was SO
stressed over this..but he's still alive N i'm still learnin

You mean whatever it is suddenly appears and then disappears? Or can you find it at the bottom of the tank?

He seems fine today..My Betta
dunno - I was told by one really crass petshop owner.. he is a $3 fish..
will take more than that for meds...flush him..
I said - I'd like to keep him alive.. guy said "whatever it's ur dollar"
DUDE! is mean! - he has spider webs in his snake/lizard tanks & is a neglectful
keeper! I could go on about his shop- bad stinky etc... but that's a whole nother topic.

Makes me so mad!

I am so frustrated!

My betta is fine today - I've been frettin over him for a few...
I guess I'll just see what happens.. ty for any input...

whatever is on him has dropped off...then next day nothing on him...
then later that day another one is there..BUT nothing for a day now...
he seems healthy & fast...eats good...flares...

I dunno I was so stressed about him.. but every other time I see him
it's diff...

I was told could be a female as... between the pec fins is their birthing?

so confused! lol - thought they were egg layin

Yes, they are egg layers.
